Quercus imbricaria
 #10 Container

The Shingle oak is just outside its native range but is slowly gaining popularity as a beautiful and hardy shade tree. Not as easily recognized as an oak due to its un-lobed leaves, this moderate grower transplants well and features fall colors ranging from chartreuse to brown. The Shingle oak retains most of its leaves in the winter providing screening and wind blocking capabilities. Oaks can’t be beat for wildlife value and energy conservation.
