Other notes: Three separate shrubs are included with this trio. Red twigged dogwood, a Minnesota native, are extremely adaptable and hardy and make excellent buckthorn replacements. It has the ability to sucker and spread so plant with caution in more formal spaces. The bright red twigs make for a great winter interest. Plant in a wooded space, wetland edge or a native planting and you won’t be disappointed. Commonly used for erosion control along stream/river banks because of its tolerance of standing water.
